Keep Safe Premises in East Lothian

09 February 2023

The initiative is a partnership with I am me Scotland and Police Scotland.

The Keep Safe initiative is a partnership between I Am Me Scotland and Police Scotland and has been developed to support disabled people to participate in community life, free from fear of harassment and abuse.

The initiative is available for anyone to use if they feel lost, scared, vulnerable or simply need some breathing space and currently being developed in East Lothian.

In East Lothian there are almost 40 premises signed up, meaning they will have a sticker on the main door and will be listed on the Keep Safe app, meaning you can venture out and about in the knowledge that there is somewhere safe to go for a rest, or assistance should you need to.

Staff within premises have all been trained in what to do if somebody does come in requiring assistance.

I am me Scotland and Police Scotland continue to aspire to develop the national network of Keep Safe places to make a safer Scotland for everyone!
