Penumbra Nova Project
Penumbra East Lothian Nova Service promotes wellbeing, recovery and self-management.
Service Description
The aim is to help people who are recovering from a mental health problem to re-connect with people and resources in their community by accessing ordinary activities such as further education, sports, clubs, volunteering, and employment. People who access the service can be experiencing mild, medium or severe mental health problems and require support to help them identify and overcome the difficulties that stand in the way of them becoming well and living a full, meaningful life.
Group activities are agreed by the people who use the service. They tell Penumbra what is important to them. Groups have been set up by request.

Penumbra is one of Scotland’s largest mental health charities and support around 1600 adults and young people every week and employ 400 staff across Scotland.
Penumbra work to promote mental health and wellbeing for all, prevent mental health difficulties for people who are ‘at risk’, and to support people with mental health problems.
They provide a wide range of services which offer hope and practical steps towards recovery, and we campaign to increase public knowledge about mental health and to influence national and local government policy.
