STRiVE aim to inspire and support people and organisations to develop and become active members of their community.
STRiVE provide support, learning and development opportunities for both individuals and organisations through their Volunteering, Wellbeing, Youth, Adventure, and Organisational Support teams.
Strive can help people find out about all sorts of volunteering roles. There is an online database of current opportunities. The Musselburgh office is open at certain times for public drop ins. Volunteers can also book an appointment out with these hours by calling 0131 665 3300.
Strive Wellbeing (previously known as Strive Befriending) offers one to one support. Support is based on individual needs, so it can be provided at home or in the local community, short-term or longer term. Some of the benefits people have experienced include:

- Meeting new people
- Discovering new interests and activities
Update February 2016 – Strive Wellbeing are currently not accepting new referrals until further notice.
Saltire Awards is a national volunteering rewards scheme for people aged from 12 to 25. There are many options available, from one off volunteer challenged to recognition for long term volunteering.
Adventure is a mobile training resource offering challenging outdoor adventure, creative arts
and volunteering. The programmes are designed to build confidence, self – awareness, leadership and team work skills. These are delivered through training sessions that are designed in consultation with individuals and groups.

Help is available for new organizations and charities. Information and support is available with things like setting up groups, funding options, getting started etc.
