Befriending and Buddy Walking: one-to-one (Changes East Lothian)

Who is this for?

  • People aged 16 years old and over who are feeling isolated or lonely

Who provides this?

  • Changes East Lothian

Description

Feel more connected through our Befriending programme.

‘Well Connected’ reduces loneliness and isolation by creating social connections through one-to-one befriending and supportive, group get-togethers for people struggling with their mental health and wellbeing.

You will be matched with a befriender volunteer based on your likes, hobbies and location.

One-to-one befriending pairs meet regularly for an agreed period. Befriending pairs may decide to attend group activities together, helping you feel more connected within your community.

Buddy Walking

Build your confidence through a series of supported walks with a volunteer.

These walks are designed at a pace and place to suit you. Ideal for people who are keen to get out in nature, but may not feel comfortable walking in a group.
