Who provides this?

  • Dads Rock

Description

This service is peer support for new Dads in Scotland. It is Scotland’s first and only national service to support Dads in the Perinatal stage who feel their mental health could be better (Perinatal stage is currently defined as the time from when you first learn you are going to be a Dad and up to your baby’s first birthday).

One of our Family Workers, Maddy, oversees the programme and matches referred Dads with our trained peer support volunteers. These volunteers are experienced Dads/Mums themselves, and provide mental and emotional support to new Dads through six weekly 1:1 Zoom sessions.

The purpose of this service is to reduce anxiety and isolation among new Dads, and help increase their confidence in their parenting abilities.
