Who provides this?

  • Scottish Cot Death Trust

Description

Safe Sleep Scotland acts as the education arm of the Scottish Cot Death Trust. We exist to provide education and training for parents, families, healthcare professionals and other practitioners to raise awareness of the risks surrounding sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI), otherwise known as “cot death”. We provide “Safe Sleep” education which addresses risks and how to reduce these by sharing evidence-based messages around sleep environments and other associated factors.  We also run professional training for nurseries and early years providers, to ensure that the children they care for are at the lowest risk possible and are kept safe and well.

We run sessions for midwives and health visitors who support families with infants, and who need to know how to share safe sleep messages effectively.

Our website at safesleepscotland.org gives further information about safe sleep messages and the training opportunities available, or you can contact us at safesleep@scottishcotdeathtrust.org.
